SAN FRANCISCO, Feb. 13, 2003 - The American Society on Aging, in collaboration with the Pfizer Medical Humanities Initiative, has announced that the Network of Care for Seniors and People with Disabilities (www.networkofcare.org) was selected as one of six recipients of the 2003 Healthcare and Aging Award. Network of Cares creator, Trilogy Integrated Resources LLC, will be honored at the Joint Conference of the National Council on the Aging and the American Society on Aging on March 14, 2003, in Chicago.

The Healthcare and Aging Awards is a national awards program that recognizes outstanding intervention programs developed to improve the healthcare of the aging population. The 2003 awards were given to organizations that have demonstrated high-quality, innovative programs that enhance functioning and health-related quality of life or prevent functional decline in older adults.

Trilogy launched the Network of Care for Seniors and People with Disabilities in August 2001, and the Web sites have rapidly expanded. Plans are now in place to serve the entire California population by the end of 2003.

Network of Care is a single place for consumers, caregivers and case managers to gain knowledge; quickly find and coordinate community services; store important information, and advocate to policymakers.

Trilogy President Bruce Bronzan accepts the ASA Healthcare and Aging Award on March 14 in Chicago.

"We are thrilled to receive this prestigious award," said Bruce Bronzan, president of Trilogy Integrated Resources. "It has been a truly wonderful, collaborative effort between the State of California, the counties and Trilogy to develop this sorely needed service. To be recognized nationally is truly an honor for us all.

"In fact," Bronzan added, "the huge success at the county level of this project has led to requests by both the state and counties to develop similar Web sites for mental health, children at risk, domestic abuse and substance abuse. Clearly, this has touched on an enormous need in health and human services, and were very proud to be a part of it."

"Trilogy is truly honored to receive the Healthcare and Aging Award from the American Society on Aging," said Afshin Khosravi, CEO of Trilogy Integrated Resources.

"This level of recognition affirms our conviction that a comprehensive information solution that both empowers the individual and can be delivered quickly and inexpensively is the all-important first step in the long journey ahead, as our aging community becomes the largest sector of our population."

"I am so proud San Diego County is able to offer this award-winning service to residents of our great community," said Rodger Lum, director of the Health and Human Services Agency of the County of San Diego. "The Network of Care Web site is truly a remarkable service that is very easy to use and is packed with helpful links and information for seniors and people with disabilities."

The Healthcare and Aging Network Review Committee called Network of Care "a huge undertaking and a very difficult project" and praised
