Feb. 10--MOULTRIE, Ga. -- The Moultrie chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness will offer the Family-to-Family Education Program on Thursdays from 5:30 to 8 p.m.

Classes start Feb. 28, but registration is required so organizers can arrange for enough course materials.

Anyone interested should contact Lynn Wilson at (229) 891-1725 or by email at lynnbw45@gmail.com.

NAMI Family-to-Family is a 12-session education program for family, partners, friends, and significant others of adults living with mental illness, according to a press release from NAMI Moultrie.

The course is offered to participants at no cost. It is designed to help all family members understand and support their loved one living with mental illness, while maintaining their own well-being. The course includes information on illnesses such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, major depression and other mental health conditions.

Thousands of families describe the program as life-changing, the press release said. The program is taught by trained teachers who are also family members and know what it is like to have a loved one living with mental illness.
