Baptist Health's annual Chalk the Walk raises awareness for suicide prevention
Times-Tribune - 9/20/2023
Sep. 19—CORBIN — Baptist Health Corbin has jumped on board in raising suicide awareness this month and making known to the community that people want to help others who are struggling through the dark times of suicidal thoughts.
Resources like the 988 national crisis hotline number and encouraging messages were found on the sidewalks all across Corbin last week as part of the hospital's "Chalk the Walk" event.
Baptist Health Corbin will post their contest entries on their Facebook page for the public to vote on their favorite chalk art themed around awareness of easily accessed resources like the 988 crisis and suicide hotline that are available to anyone who might need it.
Voting will be open until September 26 with hospital officials announcing the top three on their Facebook page the day after.
Make sure to go to their Baptist Health Corbin Facebook page, vote and share your favorite message of hope created by the chalk artists in our community.
If you or someone you know is struggling with suicidal thoughts, call the 24/7 completely anonymous hotline at 988 and take the first step in getting help.
Tomorrow needs you.
